Pilots split at qualifier

EDMOND -- The Enid Pilots split in the NBC qualifier at Edmond Memorial Thursday night, beating the Edmond Mudcats 6-2 and losing to the Oklahoma City Braves 7-1.

Zach Wallis pitched a complete game for Enid in its opening win, walking only one batter. Anthony Edwards went three for four, and Keith Barrett went two for three with a walk and a three-RBI triple in the game.

In the late game, the Pilots allowed only one earned run, but miscues in the field gave up six more. Enid's lone run came in the seventh on an RBI single by Edwards that scored Dault Roberts.

The Pilots will play again at 6 tonight at Edmond North with pitcher Nate Nance getting the start.
