NOC Enid volleyers defeat Labette to raise mark to 5-7



Northern Oklahoma College Enid’s volleyball team raised its record to 5-7 Saturday with a 30-20, 21-30, 30-26, 26-30, 15-7 victory over Labette, Kan., at the Mabee Center.

“The whole team started clicking on the floor again,’’ said NOC Enid coach Andrea Appleman. “We have been struggling with chemistry, but we put it together on the floor again with great hustle and great effort.’’

The Lady Jets travel to Independence, Kan., Monday. Ex-Enid High star Cayleena Koehn plays for Independence.

NOC Enid returns home Wednesday for a 6 p.m. match with Arkansas-Fort Smith.



Today deadline to sign up for youth tennis tournament



Players can sign for the Chick-fil-A Oakwood Junior Open tennis tournament at the Oakwood Country Club pro shop until 5 p.m. today, tournament director Jim Shaughnessy said. The tournament will begin Friday.

Cost is $20 for singles. Play will be in 18-under, 16-under, 14-under, 12-under and 10-under for both boys and girls.
