Norman — Monday was Labor Day, but Enid pitcher Alex Jones wasn’t doing much laboring on the mound against the Norman Tigers.

Jones fanned 13 batters in a 3-0 win in the opener and struck out 11 in a relief appearance in a 6-2 win in the nightcap of a high school softball doubleheader.

Jones allowed just one hit in the first game, and got plenty of offensive support. Ali Seibel had two hits with an RBI and Haley Hudson had two hits with a double. The Pacers had eight hits as a team.

In the second game, Seibel gave up two runs in two innings before Jones came in and shut the Tigers down.

Jones also had three hits, scored two runs and had an RBI. Seibel had two hits and drove in a run, while Megan Mayberry had a hit and three RBI. Hudson also drove in a run. Enid had nine hits as a team.

Enid, 12-10, has won eight of its last nine games.

Enid travels to Woodward for a game tonight.
