Aces PK Mathis earns weekly honor

ENID, Okla. — Oklahoma Flying Aces placekicker Brett Mathis was named the Champions Indoor Football special teams player of the week on Thursday. It also was the third special teams player of the week honor this season for Mathis.

Mathis was a perfect 4-for-4 in field goal attempts, connecting on field goals of 18, 17, 28 and 21 yards in Oklahoma's season finale at Amarillo on Saturday. He also converted on all four of his PAT attempts.

It capped a strong performance on the season for Mathis, who was successful on 18 of 33 field goal attempts, for a league-best 54.5%, including a season-long of 49 yards. He was 49-54 on PAT efforts this past season, converting 91 percent of his attempts. He finished with a special teams league-best 103 points.
