HENNESSEY, Okla. — Hennessey lineman Javy Renteria, the Enid News & Eagle’s 11-man All-Northwest football player of the year, signed a letter of intent Thursday to play football for Central Oklahoma.

Renteria racked up 151 tackles, five sacks and three interceptions in his senior season for the Eagles, also earning the nod as District 2A-1 MVP. He finished his career with 362 tackles and 15 sacks.

Central Oklahoma, under fourth-year head coach Nick Bobeck, finished 8-4 last season, including an appearance in the Mineral Water Bowl in Sioux Falls, S.D. The Bronchos compete in NCAA Division II and are members of the Missouri-based Mid America Intercollegiate Athletics Association.
