I read the article by Dr. McAllister 6-17-07 titled, “Is laughter really the best medicine?” The answer is yes, because God says so in Proverbs 17-22 — “A merry heart doeth good like a medicine, but a broken spirit drieth the bones.” And you can’t get any higher Authority than that. The Dr. goes on to say that scientists aren’t entirely sure why a sense of humor seems to benefit cardiovascular health but some speculate it could be because laughter stimulates the production of nitric oxide which helps lower blood pressure. So, eventually science may catch up to the Bible.
I read that in a Louisiana town they are making it illegal to wear saggy pants. Its up to six months in jail and $500.00 fine for wearing pants that show undergarments or certain parts of the body. The town council says, “Sag your britches somewhere else.”
It seems that some folks are bent on giving everyone an object lesson in anatomy. And its a shame that common sense and modesty have gone by the way-side. Some business places have to make rules so that the workers can keep their mind on business.
I also read where some schools promote “cross-dressing in kindergarten.”
Now, some things aren’t funny, and we need to remember that there is a serious side of life too. So is your school turning out kids with good chaacter or just turning out characters?
