I’ve lived under socialism in the Hillsdale, Oklahoma, area for the last 66 year by the Veterans Administration.

In August 1953, the Navy doctor had my left boot built up 3/4 inch because of the radiation eating away my left groin all the way into the upper leg bone. The Navy doctor said the Veterans Administration would furnish a built-up boot and shoes for my left leg. I guess he didn’t tell the Veterans Administration.

I’ve been a crippled ex-Marine for 66 years. They denied my claim. They said I had a fractured leg when I was 15, and that’s what caused my leg to be shorter.

I would not have gotten into the Marines with a short leg. If record aren’t in the computers, they won’t go back and look back in paper records of the 1950s.

Last week, a VA lady from Oklahoma City called and said that she was in charge and that I would get a pair of work boots and a pair of dress shoes. Each left boot and shoe would be built up 3/4 inch with lightweight materials that increase the weight by 4 ounces.

Her call actually made tears come to my eyes. Finally, someone finally cared. She and Linda Turner of the Enid Veterans Administration are the only V A people to help in 66 years.

I had a fitting by the Hanger Company in Enid. I thank God for VA lady in OKC. It’s only been 66 years that it took for the VA to do what the Navy doctor promised me. I wonder if they get a bonus when they deny Veterans claims.

This is what you call socialism. I’ve suffered under socialism for 66 years. Please fight socialism, or all of your medical needs will be treated this way.
