Thursday's edition of the Enid News & Eagle contained two of the most sensible and thought-provoking articles I have ever read — certainly not in the present condition of our times.
Dave Ruthenberg’s writing of angry, damaging words instead of idea exchanges (Opinion, “COLUMN: The death of civil discourse”) points up our need to develop respect and tolerance for others.
Mr. Franklin Doty's statistics (Opinion, “Letter: Does ban make sense?”) should be heard in the heat of radical changes being posed. Again, it needs to be pointed out: people kill people.
I personally uphold the gun permit system being used with more scrutiny along with "something more" being done about curbs on assault rifles used in so many tragedies
Thirdly, as an answer to all our problems, Isaiah 60:12. "For a nation or kingdom that will not serve God will perish." Seems that is written for individuals, also.
Just sharing what I've pondered today …
