I've done a little research on some interesting statistics I thought I'd share with you. It would be great to get this published so we can educate the people of Oklahoma, specifically Rep. Wesselhoft, as he obviously doesn't have a clue. For every fatal dog bite in the United States, there are approximately 230,000 dog bites not treated by a physician. Out of five million dog bites per year, there are 15-20 deaths (see dogbitelaw.com) that is 0.000004 percent of bites that are fatal!

And this guy wants to make a breed extinct? Are you kidding me?

Just for comparison sake, I though I'd provide you with some statistics on deaths by drunk drivers.

In 2003, there were 42,643 fatal traffic accidents. Of those, 17,013 were alcohol-related (see madd.org). That's 40 percent of the traffic accidents that caused death were alcohol-related.
