I briefly read the article about the city being struck down on plans to unionize and giving each of their employees a small raise. Hopefully, this will occur every single year or maybe even a higher raise depending on performance or accountability. I believe as a citizen of Enid, your employees do deserve a certain amount based on quality of service and length of years served. I was approached by a city employee and asked if I would support them in a union and I, myself, may have not acted as a good neighbor, but my response was "you are so lucky to have a job and be working for the city, and I feel the benefits you are getting now are adequate." However I do not know what his circumstances are and realize that it is his business only. I haven't worked for the city to a certain degree but I have worked for Wal-Mart and they are not union either; so to a certain degree I understand. Many fine agencies are available in Enid to help you, should you need help with raising your family; the Dept. of Human Services, the Garfield County Health Department; W.E.C. Program; Our Daily Bread; Hope Outreach; Salvation Army; and many more. This may be the best services you ever encountered. There are benefits every day in just being able to greet the light of a new day and be alive to learn something new that you didn't already know. Who knows, you may even find something or someone you weren't even looking for, especially in Matthew 10:86; "Without cost you have received; without cost you are to give." My favorite is Psalms 146.

I say congratulations to the city employees for their hard work and dedication and you certainly earned your raise! Have a nice day.
