Lip sync battle to benefit seniors

ENID, Okla. — Residents will have the chance to battle it out and win cash for themselves and their favorite school or charity, all while supporting a good cause.

RSVP Enid is hosting the first Lip Sync Battle benefiting Enid Mobile Meals program. The competition is set for 5:30 p.m. Aug. 8 at Stride Bank Center. More than $2,000 in cash prizes are at stake for winners.

"You’ve seen it before on Spike TV, or on Jimmy Fallon: Lip sync battles with celebrities, only this time it’s our local celebrities battling for this one-of-a-kind event, which is sure to leave you wanting more," said RSVP of Enid Executive Director Kristy Baker. "Cash prizes will be given for the Lip Sync winners, hors d' oeuvres, dessert, a live auction featuring a unique item and a fun-filled night of entertainment await those who attend."

Tickets for the event, which are $75, may be purchased online at or by contacting the RSVP office at (580) 233-5914. The event is 21 to enter.

"RSVP of Enid is known as the 'The Hub for Seniors.' It is a place to call for hot meals, to get food for their pantries, transportation, socialization and activities, small home repairs, to get active in our community again, and to refer them to valuable resources for healthy aging," Baker said. "RSVP of Enid is looking to expand and grow to better serve the needs of our community and all proceeds from this event will provide services for residents of Enid and Northern Oklahoma."

There are five levels of sponsorship for the event.

The raving fan for $250 includes a company logo on the website, all marketing material and event signage and the logo displayed at a table as a sponsor. The lead singer for $500 includes the same as raving fan, two VIP tickets to attend the event and sponsorship recognition during opening and closing ceremonies. Opening act for $1,000 includes the same as lead singer and a table of eight for the event. For an additional $500, opening act sponsors can upgrade their table to a VIP table. Rock star sponsorship is $2,500 and includes the same as opening act sponsors and a chance for sponsors to promote their business with promotional items for attendees. For an additional $500, rock star sponsors can upgrade their table to a VIP table. Headliner sponsorship for $5,000 includes the same as rock start sponsors and advertising on the backdrop for still photos and a VIP table for eight.

Those wanting to donate items for the silent and live auction can donate gift certificates and gift cards, T-shirts and apparel, products, tickets and trips, and gift baskets.

"We will premiere 15 acts," Baker said. "Performers, individuals or teams, select their favorite song and perform their version, along with their own costumes and props. Each act gets up to three minutes to wow our audience and judges."

A panel of three celebrity judges and the audience will determine winners. The performers with the top three scores will receive cash prizes and an additional cash prize to be donated to a nonprofit or school of their choice.

The first-place winner will receive $1,000 for the performer(s) and $1,000 to their charity. Second place will receive $750 for the performer and $750 to be given to their charity. Third place will receive $500 for the performer(s) and $500 to be given to their charity.
