Lamont man hurt in accident

SALT FORK, Okla. — A Lamont man was injured Friday in a two-vehicle accident near Salt Fork.

Earl Lowell Shuyler III, 74, was admitted to Integris Bass Baptist Health Center in stable condition with head and arm injuries, according to an Oklahoma Highway Patrol report.

The accident happened at 11:20 a.m. on Oklahoma 74 about 2 miles north of Salt Fork.

According to the report, Shuyler was driving a 1999 Ford Contour southbound on Oklahoma 74 when he hit a 2006 Peterbilt hauling an oversized load, which was headed north. Shuyler told troopers he didn't see the oversized load before he hit it.

The driver of the semi, Kenneth Charles Vallot, 47, of Lafayette, Calif., was not injured.

The report lists the cause of the accident as inattention. Both drivers were wearing seat belts.
