ENID, Okla. — AdvancePierre Foods has identified a man who died after an accident at its Willow Production Facility.

Emergency officials responded to a 911 call at 4929 E. Willow at 7:20 p.m. Thursday, police said.

Warehouse associate Jimmy Calep was involved in an accident with a forklift, AdvancePierre Foods said in the release, and died of his injuries.

The facility contacted Occupational Safety & Health Administration and is cooperating with OSHA’s investigation.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with Jimmy’s family and friends and with his APF team members in Enid,” AdvancePierre Foods said in the release. “We are shocked and devastated by the incident and have grief counselors on site (Friday) to help associates through this tragic time.”

AdvancePierre Foods is committed to employee safety and working to determine the details of the accident, according to the release.

Calep was pronounced dead at 10:10 p.m. Thursday at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center, said Eddie Johnson, with the state Medical Examiner’s Office.

Johnson said the family has been notified.
