First Friday/Jazz Stroll/Randolph Block Party

6-9 tonight

Downtown Enid

Make sure you ‘swing’ downtown tonight for the many activities that will be going on during Enid’s monthly First Friday.

Tonight will be a special First Friday as the Tri-State Festival is in town. The Jazz Stroll, being held in conjunction with the festival, will be part of tonight’s festivities.

Jazz bands from Enid High School, Emerson Middle School, Waller Middle School, Oolagah High School and Southwestern Oklahoma State University will perform 6-8 p.m. in the breezeway on Randolph.

At 8 p.m., guitarist Edgar Cruz will perform at the Hiland Partners Ballroom. Admission is $5.

Also tonight, a Randolph Block Paarty will be held 6-8 p.m. in the 200 block of West Randolph.

Block party events will include:

• T-Shirt Store will be handing out 350 cupcakes. Creative Arts Enid will be on hand to provide supplies and help children decorate 50 T-shirts. Donations will be taken for Horn of Plenty. Five80 Coffeehouse will provide free samples and sell shirts.

• B&J Appliance will hand out free Culligan water and accept donations for Our Daily Bread.

• The Bike Shop will have an open house. A sales representative from Oakley and Specialized bicycles will be on hand. The store also will offer sales and refreshments.

• For You! Boutique will have live music, door prizes and refreshments.

• The Rock Shop will have jewelry demonstrations.

• Muncy Photography will have a photo booth and will host a reception for Dawn Muncy, who recently received photography recognitions.

• Lola’s Boutique will grill appetizers. ReBorn Artwear will sell merchandise, and The Queen of Cakes will be on hand to sell goodies. Also, FURever Friends will have animals up for adoption.

• Soccer World will show soccer demos and tricks.

• Also, Enid Bridal Shop will be collecting donations for Loaves and Fishes, and Enid SPCA will have animals up for adoption.

Other First Friday events include:

• Gaslight Theatre will host Gaslight Cabaret, the theme of which is Disney Night. It’ll start at 8 p.m. in the Turpin Theatre inside Gaslight.

• Panevino will have live music and be open until 11 p.m.

• The Felt Bird will have live music by Heath Nieves, as well as refreshments. Also, shoppers can enter for a chance to win a $50 gift certificate.

• Angel Delight Catering and Tea Room will have live music 4-7 p.m. by Greg Stong, as well as Indian tacos for $6.

• 2nd Story Downtown will have live music by Jason Taylor. U.S. Cellular will hand out free ice cream bars to the first 200 people. 2nd story also will sell ice cream, including popsicles, ice cream bars and homemade gelato. Also, it will give away a free Mother’s Day gift from 4RKids for any purchase of $25 or more.

• Soapweeds & Cactus will host Plainview Winery and live music by Those Guys.

• At Public Library of Enid and Garfield County, Friends of the Library will hold a bake sale.

• Laney’s Cupcakes and Pearl Junkie will have grand openings. Laney’s will give away free cupcakes to the first 25 people, and after that, cupcakes will be buy one, get 50 percent off. A drawing will be held at 8 p.m. for a free dozen cupcakes. Gary Bangs will perform live music. Pearl Junkie will serve drinks and hold giveaways.

• B Hip Kids will have live music by Catfink, a wine bar and in-store specials.

• Est. 1997 will host a mini photo shoot by Elite Photography. Participants are encouraged to wear their favorite vintage outfit and have their picture taken.

• One Page At A Time and Photo Op will have a photo booth.

• Brand Name Exchange will have refreshments and will buy clothes for cash.

• Sweets 4 You will have a door prize and 10 percent off inspirational gifts.

• Retro movies will play in Convention Hall.

Enid Noon AMBUCS Tryke Races, 7 p.m, Bike Shop, 205 W. Randolph. Event will act as a kickoff to Tour de Trykes, which is Aug. 17. Historic Downtown Walking Tour, 10 a.m., Cherokee Strip Conference Center, 123 W. Maine. Join Cactus Jack for a tour of downtown Enid with real living characters from Enid’s past. ACTIVITY [Saturday]
