A building north of the West Woodward Airport suffered damage in an explosion Wednesday morning. No injuries were reported.

WOODWARD, Okla. — No injuries occurred when a building exploded north of the West Woodward Airport Wednesday morning, emergency officials reported.

Woodward firefighters and EMS personnel arrived at the scene of the explosion, which damaged the roof and parts of the Super Heaters building.

The company was about to work on a saltwater tanker when it exploded, punching a hole through the roof, said Woodward County Sheriff Kevin Mitchell, who was on scene.

Fire Marshall Mike Wickware told The Woodward News a heat source caused the tanker to explode, resulting in structural damage to the building. Only one person was involved, and there was no injury or medical treatment.
