YFS Board President Coni Blankenship will host a large-scale garage sale to benefit the Youth -- Family Services youth shelter 8 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday at 622 S. Hoover. "We will have lots of toys that would make fantastic Christmas gifts, including three battery-powered Power Wheels that are in good condition," said Blankenship. "We also have furniture, artwork, clothing and designer shoes that have been donated to the sale."
Blankenship said the garage sale is being held indoors, so shoppers don't have to fight the cold weather.
"We hope people come out and get an early jump on their Christmas shopping while helping support a great cause," she said.
Shoppers also can buy $1 raffle tickets at the sale for a chance to win a handmade quilt donated by Quilt Central.
Proceeds from the raffle will benefit the youth shelter, and participants do not have to be present at the 2:30 p.m. drawing to win.
