The 29th annual Oklahoma Mennonite Relief Sale reached its goal by raising more than $114,000 at Chisholm Trail Expo Center Friday and Saturday.

Oklahoma Menno-nite Central Commi-ttee’s annual sale featured a specialty dinner and breakfast, food, crafts, arts and a quilt auction.

“It’s all on a volunteer basis, and everything has been donated by a church or bought for us by an organization,” said Dean Kroeker, 2005 sale chairman. “It takes literally a couple hundred people to get this thing going.”

He said the total for the weekend’s sale e-mailed to him by the group’s secretary was $114,322.05.

Kroeker said Oklahoma MCC was hoping to raise $110,000 to $115,000 from the weekend’s auctions and sales. Last year, the group raised $105,000.

The annual Enid sale is one of 48 sales held throughout the United States and Canada to raise money for the MCC’s relief efforts, long-term development and peace building in 55 countries around the world, as well as disaster relief in the United States.
