ENID, Okla. — Six cars of a Union Pacific Railroad train derailed Tuesday morning just south of Breckinridge Road in North Enid.

No injuries were reported, and the six cars that derailed were confirmed as empty, North Enid Police Department Deputy Chief James Logsdon said. Police received a report of the derailment at 7:39 a.m. The derailment closed the railroad crossing on Breckinridge Road between 4th and 16th streets, near the intersection with Crestwood.

Breckinridge Road was reopened about 3 p.m. but was intermittently closed to move equipment clearing the scene.

Logsdon said the cause of the derailment would be investigated by Union Pacific, since it occurred on railroad property.
