4RKids, 710 Overland Trail, will host a Flapjacks and Flannels fundraiser, 6-10 p.m. Saturday, featuring mini golf, pancakes, prizes and family-friendly activities.
4RKids provides employment opportunities to adults with developmental disabilities, support and outreach to their families, and supports local enrichment opportunities for the developmentally disabled, including Miracle League and Special Olympics.
Saturday's fundraiser will feature all-you-can-eat pancakes and sausage and mini golf for $10 per person. The price is limited to $40 per family, up to six people. Each additional person is $5 after that.
4RKids Executive Director Tricia Mitchell said the event aims to raise funds to support the mission of 4RKids Foundation, and to introduce more members of the community to the miniature golf course and fun activities at 4RKids.
The miniature golf course was completely rebuilt from November 2017 to March 2018, at a price tag of $475,000 — all part of an ongoing multi-year $4.2 million capital improvement campaign.
Flapjacks and Flannels will include a pancake eating contest at 6:30 p.m. and a costume contest at 7 p.m. Attendees are encouraged to wear their flannel pajamas, and there will be a pajama contest and prizes.
If it is too cold for mini golf, Mitchell said there will be fun activities available inside.
"Our goal is to give people that might not get to take the entire family out a chance to have some fun, food, and good times," Mitchell said. "It is open to everyone."
