Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation has been called to investigate the death of a Garfield County Detention Facility inmate Wednesday evening.
Garfield County Sheriff Jerry Niles said the inmate was found dead about 6:15 p.m. OSBI was contacted soon after because the agency investigates all in-custody deaths.
Niles said his office would not release the inmate's name until next of kin could be notified. He said the inmate had been in custody for "a couple of days."
The sheriff said the state Medical Examiner's Office would determine cause of death.
