New jail administrator could be hired next week

ENID, Okla. — Garfield County Criminal Justice Authority met specially Thursday for several hours at Garfield County Detention Facility.

During the meeting, which began at 1 p.m., members voted to meet in executive session to conduct interviews with three candidates for the position of jail administrator.

The authority returned from executive session at 4:04 p.m. but did not take any action at the time.

“I think at this time we're not ready to make a decision yet," County Commissioner Marc Bolz said. "We’ll meet next week and we will make a decision at that time.”

The authority moved and voted to adjourn at 4:07 p.m.

The board will have another special meeting at 5:30 p.m. Oct. 10 at Garfield County Detention Facility, 1020 S. 10th.
