A new home being built at Pheasant Run Golf Community has got at least one local real estate fancier eyeing the project with fascination.

Jim Nicholas said he is in awe over how quickly and efficiently an out-of-town contractor framed a 5,000-square-foot new home in the 5700 block of Pheasant Run Drive.

Tailor Built Homes LLC of Phoenix is building the home owned by the Mortenson family which runs the Hanor Co. The home builders framed the new house in one week. Nicholas said it typically takes six to eight weeks for subcontractors to get that much work done.

"Everybody that's been around has been fascinated," Nicholas said. "I was in awe ... watching everything those carpenters did."

The home is entirely "stick built" and is a quality structure, Nicholas said.

Carpenters built the roof in the street, then lifted and set it on the home in one day, he said.

"These guys are doing a bang-up job. (It) proves to the builders of Enid what can be done," Nicholas said.

Nicholas said the process has been fascinating to watch. Also fascinating is the growth of the Pheasant Run community, he said. Lots are selling and contractors are building a number of homes. All but one pre-owned home in the neighborhood has been sold, he said.

Nicholas said builders started on the Mortenson home three weeks ago and said they would have it completed by Christmas.

"It is an amazing thing," Nicholas said.

The Mortensons bought the lot at Pheasant Run after seeing it on a Web site.
