ENID, Okla. — An Enid sex offender was arraigned Thursday on a felony charge of residing with a minor.

Aaron Michal Lockhart also was charged this week with a misdemeanor count of sex offenders residing together in an individual zone. Lockhart faces one to three years in prison and/or a fine of up to $3,000 on the felony charge and up to a year in prison and/or a fine of up to $2,000 on the misdemeanor charge.

According to an affidavit filed in the case, Enid Police Department was contacted Aug. 1 by a Department of Human Services worker about a referral she'd received.

The referral concerned two sex offenders, Lockhart and Christopher Harris, living in the same house and living with a small child, about 8 months old, according to the affidavit. Detective Tanner Austin reviewed Lockhart's sex offender registry form. He noted the form prohibited Lockhart from residing with a minor not his child and made it unlawful for him to reside with another sex offender. Lockhart signed and dated the form Sept. 13, 2016.

Austin went to 221 E. Hemlock and spoke with Lockhart, according to the affidavit. Austin asked Lockhart if Harris was inside and Lockhart said there was someone inside named Chris.

Austin told Lockhart that Harris had a warrant for his arrest and asked Lockhart if he was aware of his registry restrictions, according to the affidavit. Lockhart said he knew he was not supposed to be living with the child and Harris.

Lockhart told Austin he's been staying at the residence on and off for the past week, according to the affidavit. Lockhart said the woman staying at the residence was his girlfriend and as far as he knew the child was his biological child.

According to online court records, Lockhart was convicted Aug. 2, 2006, in Oklahoma County of crimes against nature/sodomy and first-degree rape after entering guilty pleas to the two charges.
