Community Development Support Asso-ciation, in cooperation with Oklahoma Homebuyer Education Association, Federal Home Loan Bank and city of Enid Community Development Block Grant Department, will hold a homebuyer education workshop from 7 to 10 p.m. Monday and May 17 at Southern Heights Community Organization, 451 E. State.

Participation in both sessions is required to receive a certificate of completion.

The workshop will provide prospective first-time homebuyers and anyone thinking about purchasing a new home, information necessary to take some of the mystery out of buying a home. Topics discussed will include roles of the real estate agent, lender, closing agent and buyer; things to look for when selecting and inspecting a home; budgeting and credit; and post-purchase responsibilities and maintenance.

Information also will be provided about CDSA’s homebuyer assistance program. This program can provide assistance for qualified homebuyers to help them with the cost of down payments, closing costs and other expenses associated with purchasing a home.

“Purchasing a home is one of the most important decisions a family will make,” said Greg Smith, CDSA housing coordinator. “The information provided in these homebuyer education workshops will help provide the knowledge necessary for a prospective homebuyer to feel more comfortable and sure about their decisions.”

To reserve a spot at the free workshop, call Chuck Crites at 242-6131.
