Nominations may be made by friends or interested parties, however, nominations cannot be made by family members.
The HOPE Award committee is composed of citizens representing various sectors of the community. The committee reviews all nominations received each quarter and selects those needs which can be met through available community resources and local service providers.
Last quarter, the HOPE Award committee secured a Chevy Astro van for a single mom with two children. The committee invites nominations concerning any need that can be addressed on a one-time basis.
During Doug Frantz?s term as mayor, a proclamation was issued designating Enid as ?The City of Hope.? The HOPE Award was created as another avenue through which the generosity and caring attitude of Enid residents can be extended to those who need a little help in keeping their hope alive, said a committee spokesperson.
HOPE Award guidelines may be picked up in the Hope Outreach offices, 215 S. Van Buren. Nominations should be turned in to Hope Outreach or can be made online to www.hopeoutreach.org and clicking on ?Nominate Them.?
All nominations must be received at Hope Outreach no later than Sept. 7.
For more information or any business or organization that wishes to become part of the HOPE Award provider network, may contact David Burleigh at 237-4673.
