ENID, Okla. — Enid Police Department is investigating a series of vehicle burglaries reported early Thursday morning.
Sgt. Nick John said the officers were dispatched about 6:45 a.m. to the 300 block of East Olive on a report of a burglary to a vehicle.
He said a man went outside that morning and found some of his personal identification in his yard.
"It appeared a subject had gone through the vehicle searching for items of value and threw the ID cards into the yard," John said. He said officers checked the area and located three more vehicles that had been searched in a similar manner.
Each of the four vehicles burglarized had been left unlocked, and the owner of each vehicle reported leaving valuables inside.
John recommended locking vehicles at night and removing all valuables. He also said if someone sees something unusual in a neighborhood, such as an unknown person or vehicle, to notify police.
