ENID, Okla. — Enid Police Department officers were involved in a standoff Friday evening with a man in the 400 block of South Lincoln that ended without incident.

Sgt. John Robinson said police received a call at 6:20 p.m. with the caller reporting a woman on the ground and hearing gunshots.

Officers responded and set up a perimeter around 434 S. Lincoln, Robinson said. Police spoke with the woman via phone and she verified she was OK and not in danger.

Officers made announcements via public address for a man to come out of the residence at 434 S. Lincoln, but the man never came out of the residence.

Learning the woman was not in danger, Robinson said officers left the scene at 7:45 p.m., and the investigation is ongoing.
