“The science club has been a huge success,” said Julie Baird, executive director of Leonardo’s Discovery Warehouse.

Continental Resources Science Adventure Club at Leonardo’s began Oct. 14 and offered the participating sixth-, seventh- and eighth-grade students the opportunity to learn science through problem-solving experiments.

“The children are not just part of a class, they are members of a science society that helps them further their education and explore their interest in science,” said Baird.

The science club, sponsored by Continen-tal Resources, spent its final day watching geology videos, experimenting with rock formations and had social time.

“We wanted a way to inspire children through science,” said Ron Jones, geologic manager of Continental Resources, “and partnering with Leonardo’s has allowed us to do just that. We are pleased to be investing in our youth’s education.”

The next session of Continental Resources Science Adventure Club will begin Jan. 12, and participants will have the option of participating one day or two days each week.

“I look forward to another successful session,” Jones said.
