ENID, Okla. — Carver Early Childhood Center has earned a special designation as a Demonstration School by Oklahoma A+ Schools Institutes, a professional educational development organization.

The institute provides training, retreats and on-site development to member schools. Carver is being recognized for effectively implementing those tools, and has been named an Oklahoma A+ Demonstration School, an Enid Public Schools release said.

Carver will be presented with the honor on site Thursday, the release said.

“This is a great program for professional development that we are happy to provide for our staff,” Chris Smith, early childhood director, said. “Not only will this provide more resources for our students and teachers, it will also allow us to better network with other A+ Demonstration Schools in Oklahoma.”

Carver showcased it's curriculum and performance to the institute through video recordings taken in the classroom. The early childhood center is the first EPS site to be designated an A+ Demonstration School, the release said.

"The Oklahoma A+ Schools Institute provides resources to participating schools for professional development, networking and research," the release said. "As an A+ Demonstration School, Carver ECC will be available to other schools wishing to view the OKA+ program being implemented."

Emerson Middle School is a Participant School of the OKA+ Institute, and Eisenhower Elementary School will be joining as an Implementation School on Monday, the release said.
