By summer Enid residents can visit Enid’s newest family friendly sports grill and bar, Buffalo Wild Wings.

Ed Lynn, owner, received his building permit from the city of Enid last week and plans to start building by next week when the first land will be cleared. The store will be located at 2126 N. Van Buren.

Lynn estimated four months construction for the 14,000-square-foot building. He said Thursday the retail building housing the restaurant will be 180-feet wide and 80-feet deep. It will be anchored on the north end by the 6,400-square-foot Buffalo Wild Wings. He is negotiating with another business to rent part of the building, which will leave four retail bays available for rent.

He anticipates opening in mid- to late-May this year.

Lynn owns another Buffalo Wild Wings business on Northwest Expressway in Oklahoma City and is the franchise holder for Oklahoma.

He said he wanted to open another store, and the Buffalo Wild Wings company identified Enid, among others, as a good market. He looked at other areas but selected Enid based on the general demographics study done by the company.

“Enid is good geographically, the size, 50,000 people, is more than enough, and then you look at the demographics and the income available and eating expenditures of people in Enid,” he said.

“The Air Force base enhances the demographics for us. It’s a great community gathering place, and Enid is a great sports town,” Lynn said.

Lynn said the Buffalo Wild Wings brand is a family friendly sports bar specializing in wings, but the restaurant also serves hamburgers, wraps, salads and other dishes, along with 20 beers and a full bar.

The franchise will feature a comprehensive audio-visual system, which is 100 percent high-definition. There will be about 38 televisions, eight of them big screens, he said, with cable and satellite systems. Lynn said Buffalo Wild Wings subscribes to every sports package available, including NFL Sunday Ticket, ESPN Game Day and other packages.

He emphasized the restaurant is kid-friendly, with coloring books at the tables and a “buzz time” trivia games available to take to the table.

A general contractor from Indiana is building the store and using a number of local subcontractors.

“We’re excited about Enid, and Buffalo Wild Wings is a great brand,” Lynn said.
