AAA Oklahoma will offer its Tipsy Tow service to Oklahomans who’ve celebrated the Fourth of July too enthusiastically to safely drive.

The service, which is free to AAA members and non-members alike, is available from 6 p.m. Tuesday to 2 a.m. July 5. The service is available in Enid, Ardmore, Lawton, Muskogee, Oklahoma City, Shawnee and Tulsa.

AAA Oklahoma will provide a free tow and ride, no questions asked, within a 15-mile radius of the point of pickup for up to two people and a vehicle. The only place AAA Oklahoma will take you is home.

“You take a warm day or evening, add a holiday party and combine with alcohol, and that’s a recipe for tragedy behind the wheel,” AAA Oklahoma spokesman Chuck Mai said. “With AAA’s Tipsy Tow everyone, including the vehicle, gets home safely.”

To call for a Tipsy Tow, call (800) AAA-HELP (222-4357).

“This is the 22nd year AAA Oklahoma has offered Tipsy Tow,” Mia said. “Our hope is that the program get a lot of use.

“We really feel lives have been saved by people calling Tipsy Tow. For us, it’s well worth the effort.”
