Online enrollment is now going on for the Oklahoma Fall Arts Institute at Quartz Mountain (OFAI). Oklahoma public school teachers automatically receive full scholarships to the program, including tuition, room and board. At OFAI, master artists teach four-day weekend retreats in the literary, visual and performing arts, including a new workshop for core curriculum educators. Classes in photography, drawing, painting, sculpting, writing, storytelling, musical theater, choir, monotype, arts integration, film and dance sport are available to educators and artists of all ability levels.

Workshops are the weekends of Oct. 20 and 27 and Nov. 10 and 17. This fall's new schedule means most people will only miss one day of work, but will have the same amount of class time as in previous years. Upon completion of the program, teachers receive a certificate for 18 hours of professional development.

Workshop schedules, course descriptions and online registration are available at www.okartinst.org or (405) 319-9019. Scholarships are provided in part by the Oklahoma State Department of Education and the Oklahoma Arts Council.

The Oklahoma Arts Institute is a private, non-profit organization developed in 1976, with a vision to cultivate established and emerging artists and educators through art workshops, immersion and awareness. OAI administrators a fine arts program for talented Oklahoma youth and a series of continuing education workshops for adults.
