9th annual YFS gala set for Feb. 29

ENID, Okla. — Youth and Family Services of North Central Oklahoma's ninth annual Gala will be Feb. 29, 2020, at Stride Bank Event Center.

This year's gala is presented by YFS, Edward Jones, BKD CPAs and Advisors, and AT&T. This year’s theme is “Boots & Bling.”

Casino-style games, such as black jack, roulette and a craps table, will be provided by Members of Enid’s AM AMBUCS.

"The fun begins with a delicious steak dinner served at 6:30 p.m., prepared by the event center’s executive chef, Gerald Craparota," said Tree Perkins, YSF director of development. "In addition to the games, after dinner there will be dancing and a live auction."

The event ends at 11 p.m.

Perkins said the gala is cocktail attire with an emphasis on western wear.

"So, polish those boots and add an extra bit of bling to your outfit," she said.

Seating is limited. Those who wish to attend are encouraged to buy tickets as soon as possible. Tickets are $75 per person. Table seating for up to eight people is available for $600 or a half table may be purchased for $300.

All proceeds from the Gala benefit Youth and Family Service’s “Nights of Shelter” campaign.

YFS provides shelter through three different programs: the emergency youth shelter, Thelma’s House for homeless 16- and 17-year-old youth, and transitional living for young adults ages 18-22.

"In addition to providing shelter, Youth and Family Services provides food, case management, therapy and access to a wide range of other programs that help children and youth achieve ongoing safety and stability," Perkins said. "With the help of the community, YFS hopes to continue to provide shelter and offer services that help prevent youth homelessness."

Youth and Family Services of North Central Oklahoma is a 501(c)3 organization. Ticket purchases may be tax deductible.
