Enid Fire Department was called to two kitchen fires Tuesday.

Fire units were dispatched to 8925 Perry at 11:09 a.m. and saw flames coming out of the kitchen window, according to an Enid Fire Department report.

The fire was contained to the kitchen, but smoke and heat spread throughout the interior, causing an estimated $55,000 in damage. There appeared to be no structural damage and no injuries, but a cat died, according to EFD. Units were on scene for two hours.

Another smaller fire at 408 N. Oakwood was extinguished quickly and caused minimal damage at about 4:30 p.m. Tuesday.
