Dowers-Hines joins staff of CL Meyer Salon -- Day Spa

Angie Dowers-Hines has joined the spa staff of CL Meyer Salon -- Day Spa in Heritage Hills Park.

Dowers-Hines specializes in full body waxing, corrective facials, micro-dermabrasion, make-up applications, eyebrow and eyelash tinting.

She recently moved back to Enid from Flagstaff, Ariz., where she worked for Black Diamond Spa. Dowers-Hines has seven years of experience in hair removal.

Her hours will be 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. Call 237-4438 (GIFT) for information.

AE Howard Tile -- Carpet featured in The Tile Magazine

AE Howard Tile -- Carpet Inc. recently was featured in The Tile Magazine for the company's design work involving in Drs. Eve and Seth Switzer's master shower.

The shower features Dal Tile 6-inch tile and contains tumbled slate been cut to make the Chinese inscription "Double Happiness." The bathroom has heated floors.

Joshlyn Howard and Misty Bouldin, owner and manager, respectively, of AE Howard Tile -- Carpet, said they enjoyed working with the Switzers, who gave permission to feature their home in the publication.

Haxton joins Team NCPA advisory board

Geoff Haxton has joined the statewide advisory board for Team NCPA, a special project of the national Center for Policy Analysis.

The center's goal is to educate about a need for Social Security and benefits of a personal investment-based approach.

As member of the board, Haxton will speak to organizations across the state, outlining why reform is important, why Congress must act soon and why personal retirement accounts are an essential part of any solution.

"We are thrilled to welcome Geoff to our team," said Team NCPA state director Terry Neese. "He is extremely qualified and passionate about the issues involved in Social Security reform, and we are proud to have him serve as the voice of northeastern Oklahoma."

Haxton graduated from Oklahoma State University with a bachelor's degree in broadcast journalism in 2001. He currently is news and public service director for three radio stations as part of Chisholm Trail Broadcasting. He handles public service announcements and interviews and is the play-by-play announcer for broadcasts of many area sporting events.

Haxton also is the scoreboard host for the University of Tulsa football radio network.

"I truly believe Social Security reform is crucial to the future of our country," Haxton said. "By equipping Oklahomans with the facts regarding Social Security, we are empowering them to be active participants in the national debate on a local level."

Potts joins Dr. Thomas' dental practice

Jamie L. Potts, D.D.S., has joined the dental practice of Dr. Gregory D. Thomas.

Potts is a 1997 graduate of Enid High School. She received a bachelor of science degree in zoology from the University of Oklahoma in 2001. In June of this year she graduated from the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center College of Dentistry with a doctor of dental surgery degree.

Potts is taking new patients. The office is at 2412 Heritage Trail. Appointments can be scheduled by calling 233-1425.
