ENID, Okla. — Greater Enid Chamber of Commerce met with employees of the recently opened Tractor Supply Co., at 4010 W Garriott, at noon Friday to officially welcome the farm and ranch retailer to town with a ribbon-cutting ceremony.

"We're happy, we're thankful and blessed to be here," store manager Shawn Salierno said, speaking on behalf of himself and the store's 14 employees.

Since the soft-opening Jan. 31, there's been a lot of foot traffic and a lot of dollars spent, he said.

"We're doing well in business, and even with a competitor down the block it doesn't make a difference, honestly," he said.

The Tennessee-based chain has been wanting to get into the Enid market for a long time, he said.

"It's been a couple years ago we wanted to come here, we just didn't have the opportunity, so to say," he said. "Now with Kmart closing, we jumped on the first chance we had to move into here, come into this town and bring something new to the community."

The average Tractor Supply store is 19,000 square feet, but Enid's is a little larger, sitting at 22,000 square feet.

Packed inside are plenty of tools and toys designed with the agriculturally inclined in mind, from machinery, to livestock feed, to clothing, to tractor/trailer attachments, to fencing both electrical or not, and much else besides.

"We're glad to be here. Anything you guys need, we'll take care of you any way we can," Salierno said.
