Library teams to offer free lunches this summer

Public Library of Enid and Garfield County

ENID, Okla. — Public Library of Enid and Garfield County, together with Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma, Loaves & Fishes and city of Enid Parks and Recreation Department, will offer free Lunch Bunch activities each week, Monday through Friday, from July 1 to Aug. 9, with the exception of Independence Day.

Lunch will be served to anyone up to age 18 in two locations this year. Each day, 10:45-11:45 a.m., library personnel will be behind Mercy House, 1714 S. 4th, for literature and lunch. In addition to lunch, children will be able to visit the mobile library, grab a book, read it and return it for another selection.

The program will move noon to 2 p.m. to Champion Park Gym, 700 N. 10th. Lunches will be served from noon to 12:45 p.m. There will be stories, music and movement offered each day, with special programs by Enid SPCA, Family Martial Arts of Enid, Enid Police Department and others. Snacks are to be served at 12:45 p.m.

In addition to the free lunches, Enid Transit is offering free transportation for families. Anyone needing a ride can call Enid Transit at (580) 233-7433 to make arrangements.
