ENID, Okla. — Public Library of Enid and Garfield County is teaming up with American Library Association and libraries nationwide to remind residents to get their library card, particularly during Library Card Sign-Up Month in September.

"Having a library card isn't just about the ability to check out books, although it's a great part of it," said Jenny Regier, library director. "A library card allows you to use the internet, use our databases, utilize our study rooms, and participate in any of our programs. We offer help learning technology and finding jobs. A library card can give you the world."

Disney and Pixar's "Toy Story 4" characters will serve as honorary chairs of Library Card Sign-Up Month this year. They will promote the value of a library card and bring attention to the ways libraries can transform lives and communities.

During a giveaway in September, any new member who signs up for a library card will be eligible to win a bookstore gift card.

You can learn more at facebook.com/enidpubliclibrary or enid.okpls.org or call (580) 234-6313. The library is at 120 W. Maine.
