ENID, Okla. — Every dog has its day, according to the City of Enid, and that day is Saturday, Aug. 17, 2019. Enid Parks & Recreation department is hosting two events for dogs and their owners that day.

Bring a leash and a pair of running shoes to Crosslin Park for the Fast and the Furriest 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run. The race starts at 7, and pre-registration and packet pick-up will be handled at 6:30 in Pavillion No. 1, according to a news release.

There is a $10 fee to participate in the 1 mile run and a $20 fee for the 5K.

From 2-6 p.m., there's a chance to cool off at the annual Doggie Dip at Champlin Pool, the release states. Both man and beast are welcome to dive in.
