City accepting 2019 Walk of Fame award nominations

City of Enid

ENID, Okla. — The city of Enid is accepting nominations for 2019 Walk of Fame award recipients until June 28, according to a release from the city.

The Walk of Fame awards are presented in September by Enid City Commission during Cherokee Strip Days to people "that have made significant contributions to the Enid community," the release said.

Nominees must have "demonstrated a lifetime of service to the community in general," or have "made an extraordinary contribution or act of selflessness or statesmanship for Enid," according to the release.

An awards committee will review all submissions and select a recipient, the release said, though it also may consider people who were not nominated but still meet the criteria to be recognized.

Nominations should be delivered to the city clerk's office in the city administration building, 401 W. Garriott.

The deadline to submit is 5 p.m. June 28, the release said, and any nominations received after the cutoff will be kept for consideration for the following year's Walk of Fame awards.
