Garfield County Fair, beginning 8 a.m. each day, Garfield Coundy Fairgrounds, 111 W. Purdue. Friday events include pie-baking contest, 10 a.m., and cupcake contest, 7 p.m. Saturday’s events include horse show, 9 a.m.; fresh salsa contest, 10:30 a.m.; frog and turtle races, 4 p.m.; and ice cream crank-off, 6 p.m. Carnival rides also will be up and running.

Hometown Heroes Celebration at Enid Farmers Market, 8-11 a.m., Grand and Garriott. Event will honor local people who keep the community safe. Event includes dunk tank, live music and visit by Sparky the Firedog. For more information, go to enidfarmersmarket.org.
