What's 2 Do in Enid, area this weekend


ENID, Okla. —


Mack Motor Mania

10 a.m. to noon Saturday

Leonardo’s, 200 E. Maple

Get up close and personal with more than 30 vehicles this Saturday at Leonardo’s Discovery Warehouse during the fourth annual Mack Motor Mania.

In the past, Leonardo’s has had a host of vehicles, including fire trucks, police cars, new cars, city of Enid vehicles, ambulances, race cars, tow trucks, a bucket truck, motorcycles ATVs and farm equipment.

A new element to this year’s Mack Motor Mania is children will be able to take a car apart and see how it all goes together.

Also, Troy Phillips, owner of Enid Mack Sales, will be on hand to cook free hamburgers for all who attend.

Cost is $3 for members and $6 for non-members and includes all-day admission to Leonardo’s and Adventure Quest.

Julie Baird, executive director of Leonardo’s said the event will continue even in the event of rain.


Charlie Awards

6:30 p.m. Saturday

Gaslight Theatre, 221 N. Independence

Gaslight Theatre presents its annual Charlie Awards Saturday at 221 N. Independence.

Award categories include best play, lead actor and actress, supporting actor and actress, and cameo actor and actress. Teen awards for best actor and actress also will be presented.

This year’s theme is “Gaslight ... and All That Jazz.” The purpose is to honor the 1920s, as well as next summer’s musical, “Chicago.”

Social hour will be 6:30-7:30 p.m., followed by the ceremony at 7:30.

Tickets are $5. Children 12 and under are admitted free.
