What's 2 Do in Enid, area this weekend

ENID, Okla. — CUMC Pumpkin Patch

Noon to 8 p.m. Sunday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday

For the 20th year, Christ United Methodist Church has opened its pumpkin patch to the Enid community.

Pumpkins are available for as little as 50 cents for small ones and $25-$30 for the largest ones.

Profits from pumpkin sales help missions in Enid and around the world.

On Sunday, the church will host a special event 5-7 p.m. Hot dogs and hamburgers will be for sale, as well as crafts and children’s items. The event also will feature a proclamation from Mayor Bill Shewey.

Regular hours for the pumpkin patch are noon to 8 p.m. Sunday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday.


First Friday — Oktoberfest

6-10 p.m. today

Downtown Enid

Come to downtown Enid tonight for an evening of brats, beer and polka.

Main Street Enid’s annual Oktoberfest celebration starts at 6 p.m. and lasts until 10 p.m.

Tonight’s fun will include cloggers at 6:30, a polka band at 7 and a yodeling contest at 8 on Independence in front of Callahan’s Pub & Grille.

But the activities don’t stop there. As per the usual First Friday offerings, local businesses will be open late hours and host several activities.

Activities and fun include cotton candy and glow bracelets from B Hip Kids, a carnival, prizes and popcorn at Blissful Bow Boutique, free hamburgers and hot dogs at The Non-Profit Center, Star Wars movies at Public Library of Enid and Garfield County and live music by Amy Swanner and Steven Harwood at The Felt Bird.

Also, Cafe Garcia will be open till 10 p.m., Gaslight Theatre will host a special Horror Cabaret at 8,  and Muncy Photography will be selling bierocks for $4 each.
