WATONGA — A $1 million winning Powerball ticket has been claimed by a group of co-workers and friends from Blaine County.
The Split 10, as they call themselves, has been playing as a pool for five years. Gregory Ryan, the pool manager, plays with five of his co-workers from a local manufacturing company, plus his daughter and son-in-law and one of his former classmates and her mother.
Robert Hoffman was in charge of purchasing the pool's tickets for last Wednesday's drawing. Looking for a change of luck, Hoffman decided not purchase tickets at their normal lottery retailer and ended up at a Love's Travel Stop in Watonga.
The prize is the 35th prize of $1 million or more from the Oklahoma Lottery. After taxes, each member of the group received about $71,000.
