STILLWATER, Okla. — A team of undergraduate students from Oklahoma State University has been selected by NASA to take part in the 2014 Exploration Habitat Academic Innovation Challenge.

OSU mechanical and aerospace engineering professor Jamey Jacob says the project involves students working on a project for manned deep-space missions and long-duration habitation by astronauts.

The OSU team includes students from the School of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, School of Architecture and Architectural Engineering, School of Industrial Engineering, and the Department of Design, Housing and Merchandising. The team will design, manufacture, assemble and test systems and concepts that could be used in future deep-space missions.

OSU is one of six universities selected for the program.
