Flooding reported in Metro after tornadoes

From The Associated Press

OKLAHOMA CITY — A spokeswoman for the city of Oklahoma City says there is widespread flooding across the city after a violent storm that produced a tornado.

Kristy Yager says city street Superintendent Randy Moulder is waiting for the rain to end before sending crews out to deal with the flooding. Yager says about an inch of water was also standing on the first floor of City Hall.

Television images show water up to the headlights of cars in flooded city streets.

The storm also knocked out power across the metro area.

Oklahoma Gas and Electric reports about 68,000 outages with about 18,000 in Oklahoma City, more than 16,000 in Yukon, more than 12,000 in Moore. Outages are also reported in Del City, El Reno, Bethany, Shawnee, Midwest City and several smaller cities.
