USDA says conservation payments to farmers coming

OKLAHOMA CITY — The U.S. Department of Agriculture says payments to farmers in the Conservation Security or Conservation Stewardship program should begin arriving in a few days.

The payments from the USDA's Natural Resources Conservation Service have been delayed because of the recent federal government shutdown, which has since ended.

The payments are part of a financial assistance program for producers who have established conservation programs and are implementing additional conservation activities.]
