Rains cut short Majors' trip to Hutchinson

ENID, Okla. — The Enid Majors trip to the Hutchinson (Kan.) Tournament was cut short by rain.

The Majors (9-5) beat the Wichita Reds 5-3 late Friday night, but saw the rest of the tournament scheduled rained out.

“It just poured on Saturday morning,’’ said Enid assistant Butch Lingenfelter.

The Majors (9-5) will face the Midwest City Outlaws at 4 p.m. Tuesday at Rose State College. The Outlaws are coached by Doug Weese, a longtime friendly rival.

“It’s always good to see Doug,’’ Lingenfelter said.

The Enid Minors will visit Mannford in a 5 p.m. doubleheader today. The Minors will host Edmond Santa Fe and McPherson, Kan., in back-to-back 5 p.m. doubleheaders Tuesday and Wednesday at David Allen Memorial Ballpark.

The Minors face McPherson at 1 p.m. Thursday, followed by the Majors at 3.
