TULSA — The Acers won two championships (Gabrielle Dick, No. 2 singles and Kathryn Dillingham and Alexandra Dick, No. 1 doubles) on their way to winning the championship at the Union March Tour-nament Monday.
Enid had 53 points to outdistance Edmond North (51) for the team title. Cascia Hall was third with 48, while Tulsa Kelley was fourth with 45.
Alexis Blasi was eighth at No. 1 singles, while Sav-annah Blasi and Madison Blevins were fourth at No. 2 doubles.
“It was a very good day,’’ said Enid coach Darrell Herndon. “We still have a lot of work to do, but winning is always pretty nice.’’
Jenks, which won its own tournament Saturday, was not at Union Monday. EHS was second at Jenks.
Gabrielle Dick raised her record to 8-0, beating Reynolds Chew of Metro Christian 6-0, 6-4 in the finals. She lost only 11 games on the day.
“She is pretty well dominating that division,’’ Herndon said.
Dick and Dillingham lost only seven games on the day, beating an Edmond North team 6-1, 6-1 in the semifinals and a Kelley team 6-3, 6-0 in the finals. They are 7-1 overall.
“That should help their seedings,’’ Herndon said. “I expect some teams will still be making some changes. We’ll see what happens in May (state tournament).’’
Savannah Blasi and Blevins lost their semifinal and finals in straight sets after losing only four games in winning their first two matches. They are now 5-3 overall.
Alexis Blasi had a couple of near misses at No. 1, losing a split-setter to Broken Arrow’s Courtney Coon, 2-6, 7-6, 10-0 in the quarterfinals and to Nicolle Hoose of Cascia Hall, 6-1, 7-6 in the next match. She is now 2-6 overall.
“She just needs a few more inches to push it over the top,’’ Herndon said. “She was pretty worn out by her last match (6-4, 6-1 loss to Mallory Brookover of Tulsa).’’
The girls’ next tournament will be Friday at Muskogee.
The EHS boys will go to Union today and to Muskogee on Saturday.
