ENID, Okla. —
Mooreland’s girls didn’t have time to celebrate after a 51-31 win over Rejoice Christian in the Class 2A Area I Region A-B losers bracket finals Thursday at Chisholm High School.
The Lady Bearcats (21-4) come back to Enid today to face Ripley (26-2) at 8 p.m. in the Area I losers bracket quarterfinals at Chisholm Trail Expo Center Coliseum.
“There’s no celebration,’’ said Mooreland coach Bobby Dawson. “Area is tomorrow and we have to get a game plan.’’
Ripley lost to Thomas 44-43 in its regional winners bracket final Saturday at Heritage Hall.
“They’re good,’’ Dawson said. “They play like we do — slow and deliberate. They play a good hard man-to-defense. We’ll see who can execute better.’’
Mooreland, up 23-19 at halftime, blew the game open with a 16-5 run in the third period.
Kayla Wilson led the Lady Bearcats with 15 points. Jennifer Myers had 14.
Pawnee and Wellston play in the other girls game at 1:30.
Today’s boys games pit Pawnee and Merritt at 3 and Crescent and Luther at 8.
Today’s girls winners play at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, followed by the boys winners at 3.
